Greetings from Deuba!!
This month started out busy with the first term school holidays.
We were able to host a number of groups which was great for the staff and Management to keep us busy as well as providing much needed income to continue with B Block.
Staff
We continue to be blessed with great staff, and a great team spirit here at camp! Felicity has joined our team and is making a valuable contribution to our Kids Klub each week.
Olivia continue to learn the ropes of the office.
With Felicity here, she has also been helping school the Richards' children which has allowed Jo to spend a lot more time in the office with Olly. This is valuable time needed to learn the many different office responsibilities needed to keep the office running efficiently. We are so thankful for olly and the contribution she is making to the Lords work here at camp.
Siga continues to run our Team Building courses every now and then. This weekend we will host the Churchward Chapel Sunday School leaders, who will be running through the games for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. This is the 2nd year running that we have been asked to run these games for this team. Last year and this year again, we have been asked to run their Sunday School games afternoon as well. We were able to go to the Chapel in Flagstaff with a team and run their Sunday school games afternoon. It was a wonderful time of fellowship with the Rotuman group, and we are thankful for their contribution to camp.
Iliesa continues to be Paul's right hand man spending most of the day helping out with B block. He is a great help in Kids Klub as well.
The team play an important part in welcoming and hosting our overseas mission teams.
We work alternate weekends off, on, and the boys do a great job of hosting the incoming local groups that spend the weekend with us. It is a system that works well for all of us, and allows them and the Richards some time off. (Well, as much as we can have off living on site:)
We were blessed to have Waihi Baptist church with us at the end of last month, who put a lot of hard labour and work into B Block.
Paul and the boys continue to work on B Block. At this stage, we are short of funds to put the roof on. Camp really needs another $30,000 to complete the roofing and trusses etc. We are trusting the Lord, as HE has already provided to date everything needed. Our aim was to have the building close to completion by late July, but we don't see this happening due to the funds situation. Our hope would be that the building is finished by the time Paul and Jo leave at the end of this year.
Kids Klub
We continue to have around 60 kids attending our weekly Kids Klub. The Waihi team ran a week long holiday club while they were here too. It is wonderful to have such an impact into the lives of these children. This term will be spend teaching them the Ten commandments and the importance of Gods Word and Commands.
We have a busy couple of months ahead, hosting 5 overseas mission teams throughout June/July. We host, cater, and organise these team visits, as well as providing our staff as 'Guides' when the teams travel to the Local schools or into Suva. Our first team arrives next week, from Tasmania. They will be spending a week here with us a camp, where Paul will lead them in a work project at one of the Local schools for two days ( Deuba Village). Last year they put in water tanks to improve the water situation. Covered Paths were built to the water tanks and Drinking taps installed. This year they will put in a set of swings similar to ours at the back of the Motel area here. They will then get involved in working around the camp helping with the painting of B Block.
These teams are vital to the centre as they provide valuable income through the payment of accommodation and food. Most average around 20 pax, and stay mostly in our KK units.
We continued to stand in awe of all that the Lord has provided for the centre. We serve an awesome God who when He has the hands to work, will provided all that is needed. We are thankful for His continued provision for our family as well as our full time staff Members.
Please remember to keep them in your hearts and prayers...

Esala A new Christian from our local area. Attends our Home fellowship here at camp
Every Wednesday Afternoon is Bible study, with a Sunday fellowship held at camp in the Richards' home. Staff Devotion happens every morning at 8:00am to include not only our full time workers but 5 of our local staff members. We also have Monday Morning Tea Devotion, where we all have morning Tea together. Each of our full time workers are rostered on to take Devotion each morning and Monday Morning tea.
We trust his has filled you in a little more on what is happening at camp, and gives you an idea of our daily happenings.
Blessings,
Paul and Jo Richards
